Skyrim Update Reportedly Affecting Legendary Skills

Players are finding something wrong with the latest version 1.9 update to Skyrim. Users are reporting problems with the new Legendary skills feature, saying they aren’t earning experience properly.

One of the users reported that after resetting his Lockpicking skill he was only able to earn experience after the locks break, not when he picks a lock.

“I may have been minuscule with novice and adept locks, but when you unlock master or expert locks, you’d think there would be a large jump, but that’s not the case.”

Other issues reported include problems with One Handed and Destruction Legendary skills, which are failing to level up during attacks or kills.

Here’s what another player had to say:

“I play on PS3, but I also think something isn’t right with the legendary skills. I reset my lockpicking and went to Thieves Guild to level it but it seemed slower than I thought it would be. I loaded a save from before I reset the skill and I plan on counting how many broken lockpicks and opened locks it takes for a legendary skill to level up and for a new character to level up.”

If you’re unsure of playing the game, keep your existing save data separate and start a new game just to be on the safe side.

In my case, setting Lockpicking to Legendary does everything except return the perk points. Other skills eligible “will” return perk points for reuse, only when I Legendary lockpicking do I see this behavior/error.
