Defiance Weapons and Modifications

Apart from the standard weapons, you will also find numerous alien bio and energy weapons too. Most of the weapons present in the game can be modified with parts to improve their performance on the battlefield. Keep in mind that weapon effectiveness is also increased by Skills.

Furthermore, you can expect find numerous weapons with the same name in the game. Special versions of the weapon with same name will have the same base stats. However, they will also have something extra like more modification slots or damage effects like fire or radiation.

Additionally, purple colored weapons are a part of a synergy set. If you use them with other items of the same synergy set then that will grant you special bonuses.

Defiance Long Range Weapons

There are two types of long range weapons in the game.

  • Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
  • Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle

Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
These sniper rifles do some awful lot of damage from a far range. However, they carry one big dis advantage; in between shots with this gun you will lose sight of your foe.

Although they do a lot of damage they also fire at a very slow rate. So, you need to make sure that each shot you take with this gun is a headshot. These snipers and assault rifles are soulmates.

Here are the various forms of Bolt Action Sniper Rifle you will find in this game along with their stats.

Deadbolt
It has a damage of 1271, fire rate of 0.71, mag capacity is 7, reload time of 3.2s, critical multiplier is 3 and bloom is 5.00.

Light Machine Guns
This is one of the most polarizing weapon types in the game. Some of the light machine guns in the game are horrendous, requiring a whole magazine to kill off a solitary enemy, while others feel like God’s special blessing. However, the best of the lot is definitely the default light machine gun which comes with the Machinist Class.

There are five types of close ranged weapons in the game:

  • Pistol
  • Combat Shotgun
  • Pump Action Shotgun
  • Sawed-off Shotgun
  • Sub-Machine guns

Pistol
Pistols in this game are a tough weapon to wield. For starters, you really need to be accurate and make every shot count otherwise your enemy will be left standing when you have an empty magazine. It is advised that you leave this weapon altogether or the mod the shit out of your pistol to make it a worthwhile weapon going forward.

Pistols are best paired with Assault Rifles and Snipers. Here are the various forms of Pistols you will find in this game along with their stats.

Votan Mag Blaster
It has a damage of 350, fire rate of 18.5, mag capacity is 20, reload time of 3, critical multiplier is 1.2 and bloom is 0.20.

Combat Shotgun
These guns are absolutely lethal at close range. They make a very good combo with the decoy EGO power. However, one big drawback is the amount of time they take to reload.

That can be rectified if you find a shotgun with a clip which means that the whole clip gets recharged once and not every bullet at a time. Combat Shotguns are best paired with Assault Rifles, and Light Machine guns. Here are the various forms of Shotguns you will find in this game along with their stats.

Pump Action Shotgun
This type of shotgun is severely underpowered in the game. They are slower than Combat Shotguns and do less damage too. Pass them over. Here are the various forms of Pump Action Shotguns you will find in this game along with their stats.

FRC Scattergun

Frontier Shotgun

VBI Shotgun

Sawed Off Shotgun
These guns are more powerful than Pump Action Shotguns. However, their accuracy is really not all the great. If there are multiple foes standing nearby, then this gun is highly effective as it does AOE damage. Furthermore, they have knock back property associated with their ammo.

Uh, the pump shotguns are very good. I’m currently on the hunt for another FRC Heavy Scattergun for another character because when timed/aimed right, I can get 1-hit kills from the hip with this. With any weapon type, most of what’s available is just crap. There are some that are clearly better than all else available. For instance with ARs – the 3-shot burst ones (like the Gladiator and VBI TACC Assault Rifle) have IMMENSELY higher dps, lower recoil, and better accuracy than any other AR available. It’s not even a competition. If I ONLY use my 3-shot burst ARs in an ark fall, or coop mission, I am #1 damage 9 times out of 10, sometimes doing as much as 2-3 other people in the coop combined. So yeah, MOST of the Pump Shotguns aren’t worth their salt, but imo – none of the combat shotguns are. Sawed Off 1-hitter-quitters or a Heavy Scattergun are the only shotguns I’ve found to be worth the waste of a weapon slot.
