We heard news earlier this year of a potential Half-Life movie, of Gabe Newell having a chat with J.J Abrams. The prospects of J.J Abrams directing a Half-Life movie are definitely exciting, given the rich atmosphere he could create in Cloverfield and Star Trek.
However, he’s not the only one interested in making a Half-Life movie; Uruguayan director Fede Alvarez, responsible for the 2009 flick Panic Attack and the remake of the Evil Dead series, in a talk with Yahoo! revealed his ultimate desire:
“I really want to make a ‘Half-Life’ movie at some point – but I’d heard it was impossible because Spielberg wanted to make it.”
Perhaps confusing J.J Abrams with Spielberg, Alvarez went on,
“That’s definitely one that I’ve always dreamed of making into a movie though.”
It is interesting to see directors keen in making a Half-Life movie and if it’s anything like some of the Half Life fan-made movies I’ve seen, which, by the way, you should totally check out, I’d pay good money to watch. Maybe we will finally get to see a Half Life 3 to add to the story, a man can dream, can’t he.
