It seems that some analysts have decided to make some pretty bold claims and suggest that Bioshock Infinite cost a whooping $200 Million to make, with $100 Million for Marketing and and another $100 Million for development.
Ken Levine officially debunked all such reports and of course decided to take the humorous road to amuse his followers in the following series of tweets.
200 million for Infinite? Did someone send some checks to the wrong address? #unnamedanalyst

No wonder @gearsviking had a new golden codpiece for every day of the week.

As you can see, it is pretty apparent that Bioshock Infinite didn’t cost as much as the analysts thought it would. Its also surprising that Top Tier titles like Grand Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4 and many other games were all developed for less than a $100 Million each. So far a developer like Irrational Games to go on an EA level spending spree would be absolutely preposterous if not completely absurd!
