Keep your fingers crossed and start praying if you have a Playstation Network account, because Sony is doling out some digital moolah to select users of their service.
We’re not exactly sure by which criteria these users are being awarded, but according to some statements by SCEA spokespersons the 10$ credit is being given to “select active PSN users”.
This isn’t really the first time this has happened. Last month in February we saw the same thing happen, players would log-in and see the XMB message that awards them $10 in PSN credit to thank users for “being a loyal customer and fan of PlayStation Network.”
Sony is also running a special offer open to all PSN users during the month of March that rewards players with $10 in credit for every $50 spent on the network.
Unlike the February giveaway, the new massage shown does not give any hint of why certain people got the credit and why other didn’t. Until Sony decides to make public its criteria for gifting, we’ll have to assume that this surprise promotion was an effort to simply reward people for existing on Sony’s books. Kind of a nice gesture though I suppose.
