We reported recently about THQ finally reaching the end of the line; auctioning off all its remaining IPs. On the list was also the 2012 remake of the multiplayer first person shooter, Nexuiz. The remake was based on the original PC version and used the CryEngine 3.
The game itself is owned by Illfonic so it won’t undergo a change of hands; however, the remake of the game was released on the Xbox 360 last through a publishing deal with THQ. Therefore, it was only natural the creators announced on their Facebook page that the Xbox 360 servers have been taken offline. The post also reassured fans of the PC version that the PC servers were owned by Illfonic and will continue to function normally.
What does this mean for the future of the Xbox servers and the game itself will be revealed once the transition from THQ is made. Other notable games on the list were Darksiders, Red Faction and Homeworld, read the full list here.
