From Software has announced by way of Famitsu magazine, that Armored Core 5 (the latest in the series of mech combat games) will be getting a sequel/expansion called Armored Core 5: Verdict Day.
Armored Core 5: Verdict Day is a new game that is set in the same world as the original game and is also closely tied to it. Apparently, the title will feature a new take on the old game’s online multiplayer.
It will still be a bit team-centric but now, online play will feature players joining one of the game’s world powers. Similar to a lot of MMO games, the balance of global superpowers will constantly shift on the world map depending on which side performs better in battle.
As with most sequels, we can expect new mechs and parts as well as a new story mode campaign. You’ll also be able to with bots and Armored Core 5 players will be able to import save data into the game.
The Armored Core 5: Verdict Day comes out September 26th for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan.
