Xbox Entertainment Studios To Create Interactive Content Beyond Video Games

Nancy Tellem, the studio head of the new Xbox Entertainment Studios, announced the 125-person studio at yesterday’s Dive Into Media conference. Xbox Entertainment Studios is dedicated to “true interactive content” for the Xbox brand.

The new studio will work to create original interactive content that goes beyond video games to engage with film, TV, and sports. Tellem’s background comes from CBS and as such she will also oversee live event programming on Xbox Live, innovating new interactive and linear programming on Xbox Live.

Xbox Entertainment Studios will also be responsible for “a range of scripted interactive content,” some of which may see daylight this year. A partnership with “content creators, networks, aggregators and advertisers to pioneer the future of TV” will bring more than 40 new “voice-controlled, customized TV and entertainment apps” to the Xbox.
