With fears surrounding Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal ASsault and whether it will ever see a release on PS Vita, Insomniac studios have stepped in to clarify that it hasn’t been cancelled and will be released in due time.
The Vita port of the console game had been pegged for an early 2013 release, with many fans hoping for January after a tweet from Sony mentioned January 29th.
Insomniac have been working hard on getting Ratchet & Clank: FFA onto Vita, but the Facbeook fan page has been receiving grief for the game not coming out when fans expected it to.
Insomniac received a number of complaints, including one from a fan that claimed they were now finished with Insomniac’s works and games because of their lack of work on a Vita port, to which Insomniac replied:
Please get your facts straight. We never said the 29th. It was said mistakenly via a Sony Twitter account. Not Insomniac. Tin Giant IS a real developer and is working on the game. The game will come out and is not “canned”. Insomniac does not develop for Vita. We never have and we have repeatedly stated we won’t. Sony owns the game and the IP and therefore controls who makes the games and what is done with it. We made the PS3 version and passed it off to Tin Giant to port to Vita. Anything beyond that we do not control. If you have an issue with that, take it up with Sony. Thanks.
Hopefully this will assuage some fans’ fears that the game has been cancelled, when it clearly hasn’t. No major news from Insomniac recently isn’t something to get worked up over.
