Injustice: Gods Among Us Will Pit You Against the Man of Steel

By   /   3 years ago

A new trailer released by NetherRealm Studios finally reveals the story of the upcoming brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us. It’s an interesting take but not something that hasn’t been done in the past. The man of steel has so far proven himself to be the upholder of justice but what happens if he goes AWOL?

Going past this point means you’re prepared to handle spoilers that may potentially damage your experience with the final game.

The trailer starts with Joker threatening everyone with a nuclear bomb that has been planted in the heart of Metropolis and which is ready to be detonated. Joker though makes good on his threat and detonates the bomb; hence vaporizing the whole of Metropolis with it. The devastation comes as a huge loss for Superman as he also loses Lois Lane and his unborn son.

The game’s opening cinematic has Superman ready to pummel Joker into dust. Batman, like always attempts to calm the Kryptonian but watching the clown revel in his success proves too much for Superman to handle. He kills the Joker by ripping his chest out.

The story of Injustice: Gods Among Us will be told by jumping between characters in the future and the past. The first chapter stars Batman himself and his investigation of Joker’s escape. Following some fights, including one with Deathstroke, Batman will battle Lex Luthor in space. Once the chapter concludes, the story will shift to the perspective of another character in similar fashion.

The storyline will also have other characters, who once were evil but have now turned good in an effort to take down Superman and his newly formed villainous group.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will release on April 16 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
