Burnout Paradise 2 Teased by Criterion

I just wish for Criterion to come clean with us. Last year the studio stated that a sequel to Burnout Paradise was not on their agenda as of yet; even though there were many rumors flying around the web that Criterion indeed had plans to go for Burnout Paradise 2.

On Friday, the studio hinted that a sequel to Burnout Paradise could be in development. Creative director Alex Ward tweeted the following, asking fans for their input:

If we were to make a sequel to Burnout Paradise – what should be in it? #BurnoutParadise2

Many users replied that they wanted the series to return to its roots and skip on an open world title. Ward tweeted back to such users saying asking “How does no open world mean more fun?”.

Lots of tweets about Crash Mode. Perhaps though, like Fawlty Towers, The Office and Phoenix Nights – great memories should stay great?

Hours after the initial tweet, Ward tweeted again but this time clarifying that it was “highly unlikely” for the studio to develop Burnout Paradise 2 at the moment.

To be clear folks I was just ‘asking the audience’ a fun question on our fifth anniversary. Highly unlikely we would.

It all just puts us back into the speculation seat; could an official announcement for Burnout Paradise 2 just be around the corner?
