MLB 2K13 Announced For March

By   /   4 years ago

2K Sports has announced Major League Baseball 2K13 to release on March 5 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game cover this time will feature Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price, winner of the 2012 American League Cy Young Award.

During a press-release today Jason Argent, vice president of marketing at 2K Sports offered his thanks to their league partners:

We’d like to thank our league partners for their support in helping us reach an agreement to bring back MLB 2K.

The announcement of a new MLB game comes as a surprise following a pretty average reception for the recent titles. This ultimately left parent company Take-Two to show discontent in renewing its contract with Major League Baseball.

Back in December 2010 CEO Strauss Zelnick called the MLB 2K agreement as a “losing proposition”. The franchise was reportedly costing the firm $30 million annually; whereas the games were not meeting expectations.
