Star Wars: The Old Republic Has Gone Free2Play Today

By   /   3 years ago

The moment has finally come, Star Wars: The Old Republic has finally gone free-to-play today. You can now play EA’s Star Wars mmorpg from level 1-50 as any class, without spending any money.

If you’re playing the game for free, you should be aware of some of the restrictions that you’ll come across. If you’re a fan of PvP, you’ll only be able to participate in five warzone matches a week.

If PvE is more of your thing, then you’ll be delighted to hear that you’ll be able to run unlimited flashpoints a week. However, only the first three instances will drop boss loot for you. If you feel the need to play more in a week, then you can purchase a weekly pass to lift these restrictions.

Some of the other restrictions consist of only being able to use two action bars and the inability to equip purple items.  Though, it’s not very costly to get past these restrictions, as you’ll be able to equip purple items the moment you’ve spent more than $4.99 in the shop (or are a returning player who bought an original copy of the game).
