Halo 4 Vortex Map Strategy Guide – Power Weapons and Vehicles Locations

Vortex is a large map designed specifically for huge-scaled multiplayer battles involving all sorts of firepower coming from Ground/Air Vehicles and Infantry.

Vortex is also the only map that features the Rocket Warthog.

Vortex is a large-scaled, big-team battle-focused map with a number of walkways and camping positions for riflemen to enjoy. Vortex itself is an ancient remnant that lies in the middle of the map, hanging far above the center valley.

Vehicles are widely available in each team’s bases but may not be vital for success, though we suspect that the Rocket Warthog in the middle of the map will be a priority for many to get hold of.

Map Layout
For starters, each team spawns to find a variety of vehicles and weapons in store for them. Players can man vehicles to reach the higher grounds quickly. That is an advantage if you’re going for a long-ranged load out like the DMR.

For foot soldiers, there are a lot of camping spots riddled across the terrain, with many routes and walkways overlapping each other.

Power Weapons
Sticky Detonator: The two Stick Detonators are located on each side of the map, on the higher ground.

Other Weapons

  • Needler
  • Sniper Rifle
  • Grenades
  • Random Drop Weapons

Vehicles
Rocket Warthog: It is located beneath the main structure found in the middle of the map.

Wraith: It is located on the pathway that leads into the map’s main structure.

Ghost x 3
Warthog x 2
Mongoose x 3
Turret x 3

Tips and Strategy
Well, since Vortex is the only map that features the Rocket Warthog, we all know what’s going to happen when the map loads. Everyone is going to rush and try to get a hold of it.

No we are not telling you to rush with them, instead grab yourself, a DMR or a battle rifle and camp out in some high vantage point with a clear line of sight. Now simply waste those sorry beings as they come across your crosshairs.

Vortex does not boast a vast amount of power weapons hence; it’s not really fruitful to go beneath the large structure. If you want you can always camp out inside the Vortex building itself though.
