Ragnarok is the remake of a Halo 3 multiplayer map called Valhalla. It is a large scaled map suited for a number of gameplay modes. The highlight of the map is obviously the inclusion of the Mantis, a mech that can be piloted by players.
It’s a mechanical force of destruction, and rest assure every player is going to try his luck hijacking the Mantis. Apart from that the layout of both the remake and original are almost the same.
Each team’s base comes equipped with vehicles, weapons, ammo and best of all, man-cannons. The bases are in the central part of the map and there are three routes from each base into the middle.
One of the side paths consists of narrow caves that meet in the middle at a crashed UNSC Pelican drop ship. The river also provides a great, somewhat-covered road to get from one side to the other.
Power Weapons Spartan Laser: It is located on the cliff in the middle of the map.
Railgun: It is located to the right of each team’s initial spawn point.
Random Drop Weapons
Vehicles Banshee: They are located behind each team’s spawn bases.
Mantis: They are located behind each team’s spawn bases.
Mongoose x 4
Warthog x 2
Ghost x 2
Tips and Strategy
Manning a vehicle is recommended in this map. If you opt for the ground ones, then be vary of the enemy Banshees dropping some serious damage. It might prove better to stick to the left or right walkways as most of the action will be centered around the middle Creek.
For weapons, Range goes well in Ragnarok. Additionally, Battle Rifles work wonders with DMRs. The size of the map provides many vantage points for players to fort up and drop headshots at will.
Regarding the Mantis, if you can get hold of it, then it’s great; otherwise stay clear of the menace.
