Guild Wars 2 Leatherworker Crafting Guide – Recipes, Runes and Refinements

In Guild Wars 2, crafting is not only important to create items, but it also helps players in level progression. If you manage to fully level up a crafting discipline to full (to level 400), your character will earn XP sufficient for a 10 level boost.

Just like the other crafting disciplines, a leather worker can craft various armor items well suited for Thieves, Rangers, and Engineers (Adventurers).

The basic crafting mechanism is quite similar to that of a “Tailor” but a Leather worker can craft armor of medium quality that provides better defense than the former. However, just like the “Tailor,” Leather Worker can also craft bags (to increase inventory space) and runes as upgrades for additional functions.

In order to be a Leather worker at any time, you can meet the following NPCs:

  • Abram (Divinity’s Reach)
  • Bela (Hoelbrak)
  • Hamil (Lion’s Arch)
  • Keysal (Township of Claypool)
  • Snaarl Strainedclaw (Black Citadel)

They will train you to be a leather worker for a humble price of 10 Bronze coins.

Guild Wars 2 – Leather Worker Insignias
The insignias (materials that render additional stats) in leather making are same as in another armor crafting professions (Tailor and Armorsmith). The Standard Insignia is created by mixing a Bolt of a material with 3 fine crafting materials of the equivalent tier while the Embroidered version can be made from a Bolt and Spool of Thread of the same material.

The effect of Insignias may be additional, but they do have a significant role in Precision and Conditional damage, etc., so it’s important that you choose them carefully.
