Guild Wars 2 Artificer Crafting Guide – Recipes, Inscriptions and Potions

By   /   4 years ago

There are eight crafting disciplines in Guild Wars 2 and Artificer is one of them. If the armor (light, medium or heavy) is not a primary need and belong to the scholar profession like Elementalist, Mesmer or Necromancer, Artificer is the discipline that may draw your attention.

They not only craft weapons such as Foci, staves, scepters, and tridents but also the sigils which are used to upgrade the crafted magical weapons. Along weapons, Artificers can also craft some potions, which can be used by the players for some extra buffs upon need. These potions can be consumed by any profession.

Since you can choose any 2 crafting disciplines at a time in Guild Wars 2, following NPCs will let you become an Artificer for a small amount of 10 bronze coins:

  • Salim (Divinity’s Reach)
  • Oolema (Rata Sum)
  • Crut ()
  • Draiocht (The Grove)
  • Ruuga Blackear (The Black Citadel)
  • Klunn (Lion’s Arch)
  • Wurli (Caledon Forest)

Guild Wars 2 – Artificer Inscriptions
Inscriptions, just like the Insignias, are the items that will determine the special bonus attributes of a crafted weapon. Being an Artificer, you can craft the inscriptions as:

General Recipe (Basic): 1x Wood Dowel + 3x Fine Crafting Materials
General Recipe (Plated): 1x Metal Plated Dowel + 5x Fine Crafting Materials

Guild Wars 2 – Artificer Material Refinement
Material refinement is an important task as not all the collected materials can directly be used in crafting. Being an Artificer, you can refine materials as following:

Leather Square

  • Variations (6)
  • Materials (2x Leather Sections)

Alloyed Ingot

  • Variations (3)
  • Materials (2x Ores + 1x Lump)

Wood Plank

  • Variations (6)
  • Materials (2x Wood Log)

Wood Dowel

  • Variations (6)
  • Materials (1x Wood Plank)

Plated Dowel

  • Variations (6)
  • Materials (1x Wood Plank + 3x Ingot)

Guild Wars 2 – Artificer Potions
Artificer is the only discipline which can craft potions. These potions give players additional buffs based on the materials used to create them.

They can be utilized by all the classes. While crafting potions, you will require one of each material or ingredient and will yield five potions.

Generally, a Jug of Water and a Pile of Dust of the corresponding tier is required for most of the potions.

Guild Wars 2 – Upgrade Components
For the time being, you can craft the following upgrade components for sure:
