Battlefield 3′s Armored Kill expansion has finally settled on a solid release date on all platforms. Battlefield 3’s Armored Kill downloadable content will release on September 4th for Battlefield Premium members on the PlayStation 3, before releasing on Xbox 360 and PC on September 11th.

Those who aren’t members of Battlefield Premium will have to wait until September 18th, for the PlayStation 3 version and September 25th for PC and Xbox 360 versions.

Armored Kill adds five brand new drivable vehicles – tanks, ATVs and mobile artillery – and 20 vehicles unlock, as well as Death Valley, described as the largest map in the franchise’s history.

It packs in a new Tank Superiority mode and allows you to spawn from a gun ship. Another expansion is expected in December.
Furthermore, in other bits of Battlefield news DICE now has increased the official servers for the console versions.

We have heard your wish for more official DICE servers. As of now, we have effectively quadrupled them on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, read the Battlefield 3 blog. Note that you will still be able to get quick matched into any ranked server. If you go to the Server information screen, all official DICE servers will have the owner set to “DICE.” Remember that you can favorite servers that you like so you can easily find them again on your next session.
