It was reported last week that someone wanted to sell off the development kit of Microsoft’s upcoming console.

The person, naming himself “DaE”, claimed he possessed the development kit for the next Xbox and even gave some specs of the console.

Well now a seller named “superdae” at eBay has managed to auction off what he claims to be the Development kit for the next-gen X-Box, code-named “Durango” through eBay.

The winning bid for the kit was an astounding $20,100. Now if this development kit is proven genuine then Microsoft will have loads to deal with. Having the development tools for its next console out in the open before its released or even announced for that matter will certainly be a worst case scenario for Microsoft.

However, if this “Development kit” turns out to be a sham…well this will not be the first fraud committed on earth. The buyer will be compensated by eBay naturally and perhaps Microsoft will even be relieved if this happens, unless they were the one who bought it to avoid the impending headache in the first place.

It’s worth noting that “Dae” originally intended to sell the kit for $10000 while “superdae” auctioned it off for $20,100…looks like someone made a hefty profit.
