Battlefield 3 Cancelled on Wii U – BF4 Still in Development

By   /   Aug 7, 2012

At E3 2011, Battlefield 3 was there in the Wii U demonstration by Nintendo, making it obvious that Battlefield 3 is in development for the upcoming console. Since then, nothing was heard about the game and in late 2011, apparently, due to a feud related to Origin’s Integration, the development of the game was halted.

According to a source from EA, Battlefield 3 has been cancelled because of the dispute for sure.

Dice is now working on Battlefield 4, which is set to release next year on Xbox 360 and PS3. Battlefield 4 is said to be a ‘straight port’ of Xbox 360 and PS3 with touch screen controls. Same source also revealed that the name ‘Battlefield 4’ isn’t yet final, and we may see a change before the release.

Nintendo has yet to announce Wii U release date.
