Following our report last night that Final Fantasy Versus XIII might be dead, Square Enix has announced that they will unveil more developments for the Final Fantasy XIII sub-brand on September 1.
The announcement, which will be held due to the 25th Anniversary of Final Fantasy, will be held in Shibuya and will run through from August 31 to September 2.
The first day will be an early demo event and opening ceremony exclusive for the press — though some members of Square’s fan club will gain access, too. The rest of the days will be open to the public.
While it won’t just be FF XIII at the show, it’s certainly one of the main things Square will talk about there. The FF XIII event will be called “Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Saga: New Developments Presentation,” and Square is promising details on the “future” of the FFXIII project.
Now, we don’t know what this actually means for now. Could Square be announcing that FF Versus XIII now has a release date or that its “future” means that it’s cancelled?
Hopefully, we’ll know that and more once September rolls in.
