By   /   4 years ago

This weekend saw to the death of a gamer from Taiwan who collapsed because of sheer exhaustion after a 40 hours game session in Diablo 3.

The player was of 18 years only and was playing the online role-playing game from an Internet cafe. He entered the cafe on Friday and booked a private room for himself. After that the Taiwanese player played the game continuously for almost two days without stopping to take in any sort of food or drink.

On Sunday morning, an employee of the cafe entered the room to check on the man and found him resting on a table. Shortly after being roused, the man collapsed and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Deaths after gaming marathons are not something new. Previously a lot of players have died because of heart attacks brought on by sheer exhaustion.
