Miyamoto: Nintendo Thinking of Future Gen Handheld, Not 3DS Revisions

By   /   Jun 13, 2012

Nintendo has never been known to be coy when it comes to revisions of its handheld. In saying that, the publisher seems to be taking a different route when it comes to the 3DS.

In an interview with IGN, gaming legend Shigeru Miyamoto reveals that the company is now more focused in creating their next-gen handheld instead of releasing a new version of the 3DS.

I really feel like I’m satisfied with the 3DS hardware as it is. I feel like it’s the best for this generation…What we’re thinking about right now is probably going to be for a future generation of handheld.

Miyamoto also thinks that there is plenty more that can be done with the 3DS and 3D gaming in general.

Let’s just hope the Wii U fares as well, no?
