Silicon Knights Boss Confirms Layoffs, Refutes Nintendo Rumor

By   /   4 years ago

Silicon Knights founder Denis Dyack has already responded to the rumors we posted last night. While he does confirm that there are layoffs that happened within the company, he refutes that the one involving Nintendo is not true.

In a statement sent to GamesIndustry, had this to say regarding the layoffs.

Silicon Knights has unfortunately had to lay off a small number of people…We are scaling back to a core group and focusing all our efforts on future opportunities

Regarding “future opportunities,” does this mean Eternal Darkness 2? Dyack did not confirm or deny that, but he did deny the one where Nintendo supposedly cancelled the project and dropping Silicon Knights in the process.

“As to the rumor about Nintendo, it is not true and has no basis in fact,” Dyack asserts.

Hopefully, we’ll know more in the coming weeks just how deep this rabbit hole goes. I know for certain that most Nintendo fans won’t say no to an Eternal Darkness 2, no?
