Remember when we reported that Sony was planning to unveil cloud-based gaming at their E3 press conference? As it turns out, the cloud-based company Sony might be dealing with is none other than Gaikai.
Not only that, but according to GameIndustry’s sources, Sony’s deal with Gaikai will allow could-based gaming of PS1 and PS2 classics on the PS3! They’re planning on doing this via streaming solutions and will start with first-party games.
Gaikai, for the most part, has been doing this with active partners in EA, Capcom, Ubisoft and more; although they are doing this on the PC…at least for now.
Now keep in mind, this is still a rumor until actually announced by Sony, let’s hope it rings true.
