All of Starhawk’s Map Packs Will be Free!

By   /   4 years ago

In rather surprising news, LightBox Interactive has just announced that ALL of Starhawk’s map packs will be free! Yep, you read that right! You don’t have to buy brand-new or anything of that sort, it will be free with no strings attached.

Why the good gesture though? Well, the development team didn’t like how map packs “fractured” the player-base for the game’s predecessor Warhawk. When they released map packs, it divided the players to those who have it, those who didn’t have it. So that naturally caused a division among the game’s player-base.

In saying this, the development team also revealed that they’re already in the early stages of their upcoming map pack. One of the planets/maps will be called Cypress and they even included a concept art for us to gawk at.

 Starhawk

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the game won’t have paid DLC, it will but the team hasn’t decided on what’s exactly it’s going to be. They’re going to be basing the DLC on player feedback.

This is seriously fantastic stuff, no? Hopefully, more developers and publishers see this and throw gamers a bone once in a while when it comes to DLC, no?
