Electronic Arts, makers of notable IPs such as: the Mass Effect and Battlefield franchises, has been voted by people as the worst company in America.

Website The Consumerist recently held a “tournament” format where people could vote for what they think deserves this dubious award. EA managed to beat out Bank of America to receive this “honor.”

If you think that it’s absurd that a videogame company is deemed the worst company in the entire United States of America, EA seems to agree; as it has just released a statement that seems to imply they’re taking all of this in stride.

We’re sure that bank presidents, oil, tobacco and weapons companies are all relieved they weren’t on the list this year…We’re going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide.

Yep, I think EA “winning” this thing is a bit too much. It’s not “worst videogame company in America,” it’s the worst company – meaning every other facet of business and category were included.

Now, when someone asks you why people under 18 aren’t allowed to vote, just show them this news and that should straighten them up right away, no?
