BioWare Probably Not Done with Mass Effect Franchise

If you think that Mass Effect will be the end of Commander Shepard’s journey, chances are you’re correct; but that doesn’t mean that the Mass Effect franchise as a whole will be gone once Shepard’s out of the picture.
In an interview with Official Xbox Magazine, Mass Effect 3 executive producer Mike Gamble discussed a few things post-Mass Effect 3.
We have so much to draw from. We haven’t made a decision about whether we’ll do anything in the future, but if we were to do something, we just have a lot of information to choose from.
If you boot up Mass Effect 3 and look through the codices you’ll see we have tonnes and tonnes of backstory. Obviously, for Mass Effect 3 it’s Shepard’s story and this is where Shepard’s story finishes, but the future is wide open for what we can possibly do.
While Gamble didn’t give out any specific details, I think it’s safe to assume that the franchise will continue even without its famous protagonist. The franchise is a critical and commercial darling, after all.
Mass Effect 3 will be out this March 12 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
