Star Wars: The Old Republic Is A Success Story For EA

Electronic Arts has just revealed the numbers for BioWare’s MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic and they are quite impressive. EA reveals that since the game’s release last December 2011, over two million units of the game has been sold – furthermore, the game has over 1.7 million subscribers to date.

EA big boss John Riccitiello had this to say regarding the game’s achievement:

Star Wars: The Old Republic is developing a committed community of players with more than 1.7 million active subscribers and growing

Following stats will give you a more clear picture about the game’s success:

  • Over 239 million in-game hours, or over 332,000 months and over 27,000 years of in-game time
  • Over 20 billion NPCs killed
  • Over 148 billion credits spent

The game is off to a very good start, though it remains to be seen how the game will perform a year from release. Are you one of the 1.7 million playing SW:TOR?
