Kinect For PC Release Date and More!
According to sales data that was shared during company’s CES 2012 keynote, Microsoft has shipped than 18 million Kinect units to date since its launch.
Microsoft had promised Kinect’s launch on Windows in near future and keeping that promise, they have set a release date for it, which is February 1. But that doesn’t mean you can plug-in your Xbox 360 Kinect to your PC, because that won’t work.
You will have to buy a new PC optimized Kinect unit to work with Windows and that will cost you $250, which is more than what Xbox 360 owners had to pay for the add-on.
Apparently, Microsoft thinks its worth it considering the potential of custom-apps and ever influencing hyper-active modding community.
We still don’t know which games will make their way to the Kinect for PC or whether all the games that are available on Kinect for Xbox 360 will be ported to Kinect for Windows PC.
What’s your take on this over-priced Kinect For PC ? Is it worth paying extra $100 for a plausible device ? I am asking you hardcore PC Gamers.
