120,000 Users Register to Play DC Universe Online for Free

Earlier this week, Sony Online Entertainment made its superhero MMO DC Universe free-to-play. And in just over 48 hours, they have recieved over 120,000 new registrations to try the free package of the game.

The confirmation was made by SOE boss John Smedley via twitter:

wow. Over 120k PC registrations in 2 days for DCUO PC. 4x concurrent increase. Big TV and online campaign coming later in November.

They also plan to launch an online and TV marketing campaign to publicize this free-to-play offer. If you haven’t tried the game yet then you can download it from here. Although the game has been made free of any charges, premium packages are still there with some additional privileges.
