League of Legends To Get Dominion Update – Largest Yet

By   /   Aug 4, 2011

League of Legends is getting the largest content update since its launch. League of Legends Dominion will bring Capture-and-Hold game mode and add an entirely new map, the Crystal Scar to an already awesome line-up of champions, maps and game modes.

In capture-and-hold gameplay, Summoners battle it out for the control of five unique strategic targets, capturing strategic points from opposing team and defending them. It’s more a capture-the-flag version of League of Legends.

Dominion will increase intensity of the classic League of Legends gameplay by limiting the matches to 20-minutes, which will make Dominion more of rapid-fire alternative to the classic more strategic gameplay of League of Legends. Don’t take my word for it, watch the trailer below.

Perhaps the most important aspect of League of Legends: Dominion is that it’s completely free-to-play. Players will allowed to use their existing masteries, runes, champions and skins on Dominion.

If you can’t wait to get your hands-on Dominion, visit Cologne for Gamescom 2011 and Pax Prime in Seattle, where gamers and press will get to play this mode for the first time.
