Apparently 13 Year Old’s Don’t Like Battlefield 3

If there was any doubt on the comparative audience of Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3, this pic should clear this up.

It seems Battlefield 3 doesn’t really appeal to the young gamers compared to Modern Warfare 3.

Thanks. pikatu

I’m not really sure how you picked the videos. This might reflect more on the demographic of the channel that the video was presented on.

I’m not sure if either of the channels were official, but the one for MW3 definitely does not look like it is. Also, there is a huge spread in views between the two videos. I don’t know if the B3 one was just that much more popular, or if the MW3 one was taken from a lesser visited channel.

Interesting if this reflects viewership across the net.. but tough to accept at face value.

  2. JuanApples says:

Thats obvious! Its because BF3 is to “hard” (We older gamers call it physics and realism

    • m says:

well we 18 year old gamers call COD games “fun”. Ever heard of it? Or are you too busy staring at your pretty graphics are realistically boring tank gameplay?

      • Drake says:

Woah, woah!! what you mean WE? please don’t generalize every 18 year old to like COD or to consider it fun!!Generalize yourself.

        • Brandon says:

Damn Right I couldnt care less about Modern Warfare 3 because it just getting to the point where every year its the same multiplayer adding something different and thats it. But when it comes to Battlefield you get huge environments and vehicles to drive around in taking buildings out with. IMO Battlefield 3 will be the best FPS come this holiday season.

        • Ryan says:

Thank you Drake. COD, fun? That’s a laugh.

        • drakesucks says:

we meant we loser, don’t cry.. 18 year olds LOVE the COD

      • fibanez says:

yeh because playing the same game re relesed every couple of months is fun, its only a matter of time untill cod has the same fate as guitar hero.

      • Brian LeComte says:

You’ve obviously haven’t played for more than 10 minutes and with an open mind.

  3. Shanky says:

The problem is a real Battlefield game hasnt come out in… 6 years? They were 7.

  4. DarthDiggler says:

A better comparision would have been a MW3 video hosted under Activion or COD’s youtube account. That one likely got many more views.

  5. Hydr says:

Think about it for a moment. CoD has been agressivly advertised as the “Cool shooter”. Every young gamer i know that has acctually TRIED Battlefield has loved it. It’s just the marketing that everyone thinks CoD is the best, when they refuse to try other game types.

  6. commoncents says:

thank god, finally a game with little to none kids that haven’t had their balls drop yet… oh and i have a brain so i play battlefield. if you have no taste, a yearning for little to no innovation; please pick up mw3, you’ll love it.

  7. Elias says:

Well yeah, CoD is as mainstream as it get’s. CoD vs BF3 is like Bieber vs Pink Floyd.
Besides do you honestly think kids today would pick the game that requires a brain to play?

  8. Scott says:

I’m not sure I understand the logic here. Just because something is popular with kids/teens that means there is something wrong with it? That’s weird…because when I was a kid, me and my friends enjoyed playing Super Mario World, and watching TMNT, and listening to Weird Al…Does that make those things bad all of a sudden?

    • calactyte says:

That just makes you awesome Scott, no shame in it all. Turtle Power! Stick your head in a microwave and get yourself a tan. Oh those were the days.

  9. Dennis says:

First of all GO at the official channel of Call Of Duty.Secondly not all dates of Birth on Youtube are true so c’mon i am 16 years old but i am getting both of them because MW3 is all about Fast-Paced action and BF3 offers more realistic and tactical gameplay! No comparisons between those games for me…..

    • ItsMeAgain says:

You see? you have more brains than most of the ppl that came here to hate/defend those games. I can’t get how the “old” ppl keeps comparing those games and still say they have brains, yeah they got brains… full of bullshit.

  10. HO says:

I like both, i’m more fond of MW, sometimes BF feels like ur carrying a bunch of bricks on ur back (which is not real at all), besides the maps are rather small for the vehicles and stuff, i do like alot of what i’m looking at BF3, and is all about douches and a***oles, they can be 13 or 30, cheaters griffers whatever, they’re a fkn pita and demographics don’t apply to them.

  11. Axe99 says:

Both BF and CoD are great franchises. One is more arcade than the other, but that makes neither better than the other. However, just like younger folk, on average (by no means all), prefer simpler entertainment (movies/music/etc), they’re more likely to prefer the arcade game to the one that has more realism (although BF has a ways to go before it’s anywhere near realistic enough for my liking ;) ). That’s not a bad thing at all – as the young ‘uns grow up, they’ll build on their CoD experiences and their tastes will deepen – just like happened to most of us as we grew up ;) .

  12. Shooter74 says:

Another Anti-COD, this is really getting too old. The official COD gameplay video has 11 million views and obviously not picked up because of this site’s antiCOD rhetoric. Same result my ass. You are another COD hater scum.

  13. George B says:

I stopped playing cod when i was 16,which was about 2 years ago, i still play sometimes but soon as i hear 12 year old noobs tart to wine or tak shit i am like screw this, even though cod is fast action it still doesn’t worth it. I have been playing bfbc2 still because those 12 year noobs don’t have enough brains to understand the concept of that game, only people 16 and up can play battlefield. Battlefield seems more realistic, cod is just a game where u can get a 11 killstreak just for running around with the knife, please wtf and this retarded classes

  14. Dillon says:

Um… People create their accounts to be age 18 or older because they can then watch videos that have been flagged as mature. I guarantee you that is the reason; although I wouldn’t mind it if your conclusion was the real one, I hate kids screaming in my ear… but nope.

  15. Guys Keep it Civil….

  16. Haya says:

It was fun back when COD4 was still fresh, but… ah screw it, give the COD-kids their archaic multiplayer. It keeps them out of our Battlefield squads.

  17. Cannibal Shogun says:

you people are ridiculous, just as bad as PS3 vs 360 fanboys. they are both good games, both with strong and weak qualities. if you like one more than buy that one and not the other. arguing that I shouldn’t find CoD games enjoyable because you think Battlefield is better or vice versa is pointless. This type of arguing is actually a pretty stupid and ugly thing and a detriment to the entire community of gamers be they 13 or 50.

I personally think they both look like great games and I look forward to playing both of them. And since age appears to be a factor I’m 32 and work for a game developer (not any one involved with either of these games).

Ultimately MW3 probably does have a larger share of the younger audience because it’s the more popular game plain and simple and younger people are more attracted to what’s big. If Battlefield 3 is the hit it appears to be and MW3 isn’t, next time this argument comes around it could easily go the other way. Of course none of this changes the fact that both games are made for mature audiences and 13 year old kids shouldn’t be playing either one.

  18. ValkIn says:

I find it funny all the 16 year olds and whatnot who are commenting on this, legally your aren’t even allowed to own COD, when I was your age if I bitched at my parents to get me a rated M game I didn’t get what I wanted I got a slap across the mouth, spoiled little brats you youngins are

  19. kenpat says:

    Viva La difference

  20. Loveless says:

They both looks like the typical generic shooter we see every year.

  21. Brandon R says:

I don’t care if you love BF or love CoD just don’t call a video game “realistic”. You sound very stupid if you do. Video games are for fun not realism and both games are very unrealistic, after all let’s face it were just a bunch of losers pushing buttons on a controller.

  22. Anthony says:

I actually enjoy Battlefield 3 much more than any COD game, in my opinion which i am entitled to. I think MW3 is a piece of shit to be honest. I enjoy the fact that BF3 it takes some skill. You dont have all the 20 million killstreaks, and over 20 million perks to help you out lol. Its all you. Dont get me wrong, the COD series is ok, but if i were to choose, it would be BF3. Another reason, is i dont have to hear all these damn little kids, talking about get owned, and all that other dumb shit.. BF3 is a grown folks game, thats what i like… Not the little squeakers talking and yelling. Just adults having fun. Now let the flaming start………….
