It was supposed to be revealed during Eastern Conference NBA Finals during the break, but it has found its way online, and I have no idea how. Here, we thought, Activision would be more careful after the initial mega leak.

Anyway, conspiracy theories afterward, enjoy the destructive trailer.

Modern Warfare 3 trailer shows something similar to what Activision released for Modern Warfare 2 but with more eye candy. Submarines, falling buildings, nukes and enough destruction in most powerful countries of the World to hype the game. Though, the trailer didn’t really outline anything new that we haven’t seen in Call of Duty in recent years.

It did successfully notify fans of its strong storyline, strong narrative, and strong multiplayer component. What’s left ? you wanted something new ? Activision is working on ‘cool stuff’ not new stuff.

On the side note, I don’t know if you noticed it, Modern Warfare 3 may have limited Battlefield-like destructive environments but atleast I can’t confirm watching this trailer.

Reminds me of ‘Polish a dirt, it’s still a dirt’. Battlefield 3 all the way.

  2. Haris says:

They are questioning the intelligence of people by releasing this trailer with the new engine and lots of cool stuff statements they have had made in recent weeks.

  3. xino says:

it reveals nothing because you are an egostic BF3 fanboy or a stupid COD hater.

why don’t you be a real journalist and reveal to gamers what the new features the trailer reveals rather than posting the usual garbage you are so good at?

    1. I see the ability to break open gates with blow torch
    2. collecting ammo from team mates.
    3. train vs geep and also helicopter vs geep looks like vehicle control gameplay
    4. tank: can we finally use tanks?
    5. scaling down the building
    6. blind firing?
    7. riding boat

mind you that Modern Warfare is a different franchise to Black Ops and original Call of Duty. MW is a different story of COD, it uses the title but has its own story which is based in modern combat.

Xino…are you kidding me. Watch this…

      1. I see the ability to break open gates with blow torch- That was a NPC, not you. Just an animation by your teammate. Twice in Cod4 your teammates would use a gas thing to open a gate, not sure what it was called but just because they show you’re fellow soldiers doing it doesn’t mean you are. And what’s the point anyway?

      2. collecting ammo from team mates.- Foley hands you ammo in MW2 in the level where your helicopter crashes.

      3. train vs geep and also helicopter vs geep looks like vehicle control gameplay- Maybe, but I doubt the player controls either of these. Helicopters have been in Cod4 and MW2, used by NPCs or enemies. You rode a helicopter in MW2 and sniped out of it in the castle mission. You probably just shoot at the train or vice-versa for 5 minutes. And sorry but it’s Jeep not geep.

      4. tank: can we finally use tanks?- Same as above. They were in Cod4 and MW2 I seriously doubt you can use vehicles, probably just for show. Robert Bowling should tweet that if it’s true, huge thing if it is but doubt it.

      5. scaling down the building- You scaled down rocks in the 2nd to last level in MW2, but at least it’s a new location now.

      6. blind firing?- No that was just your teammate, they did that in the other games too. Another animation.

      7. riding boat- Last level in MW2. The guy in front of you even used the same animation as Captain Price did in MW2′s trailer..

And did you not notice they just ripped off Inception music for the trailer? At least EA didn’t do that.

The only reason why I’m actuality looking at the details for this game is because Bowling said the game will have dedicated servers.

“Cool stuff” not new stuff. At this point all CoD has going for it is story. BF3 is where its at now, and the Frostbite 2.0 engine looks insane…something Activision just hasn’t shown any ability to touch yet. This will appeal to die hard CoD fanboys, of course, and the rest of the massses looking for a simple arcade style shooter supporting lone wolfs and KDR kids. Bah.

  5. Greg says:

I’ve always loved COD… but then I was like, “Wait… they’re all the same game. Just different guns, places, characters. Every component is the same.” Unrealistic, just fast-paced shoot em up. Camping. That’s COD. Battlefield Bad Company 2 was fantastic… at least multiplayer-wise. I loved it. Battlefield 3 looks 100 times better than Bad Company 2, which means 1000 times better than COD ever will unless they really change up their game.
    I’m not a hater. I’m a realist.

  6. same shit... says:

this game is going to suck, it has the same stuff the last game had, stupid moments that make no sense, going from one place to another back and forth, the story is at a stupid pace and the music in this trailer is an OBVIOUS rip-off of inception. Remember kids, just because it LOOKS cool and SOUNDS like it’s gonna be “OMG EPIC!” …doesn’t mean it is. All show, no good game here, may Modern Warfare and COD DIE already, most everyone is SICK of your stupid games activision, you suck and your games are R E P E T I T I V E. Dedicated servers CANT save you from SHITTY online gamplay, same stupid/UNBALANCED perks and killstreaks, same “aim assist” and same nooby radar makes your game only popular with the noobs. The real gamers will be playing Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3, and Battlefield 3. Fuck COD.

  7. Phil says:

Never gotten into BattleField. Though I love the sound of them, BC2 just didn’t have that crisp polish feel MW games have which is why I never bothered tyring to get into it. Not hating on BF, I’ve not played it so I can never pass judgement, just saying that COD has something I prefer over what I’ve seen in the BF games.

Having said that, I certainly wouldn’t compare BF3 technically to COD. Some people reckon MW3 might have the same level of destruction as BF3: Not likely. COD destruction has always been super scripted, they’ve just got better at scripting more of them and added more particle effects. Frosbite 2 however looks INSANE!

And no, COD isn’t going to do anything new. People like it for what it is, if you don’t or you’ve got bored of it, play something else. Doesn’t make sense changing what people like to suite people who don’t like the franchise. Just like I’m sure there’s certain things in BF that you wouldn’t want them to change.

Yes, I am gettig bored of COD’s samey campaign, so I might be moving on quite soon, but I wouldn’t demand they change it because loads of people still enjoy that gameplay and I have other things to play.

I’ll try before I buy for both games. I’m certainly not buying another Treyarch game ever again.

But I have to confess, as a trailer, MW3 pisses all over the BF3 one. Sorry :)

  8. blackguy says:

This game will be probably be CoD’s defining moment as to whether or not it is relevant anymore.

the original cod was a beginning, cod2 a console seller for the xbox 360, cod3 treyarch setting a trend.

Then cod4. The watershed, thee online game of this generation. Everything since has tried to mimic it’s success, mainly by trying to be some bastardisation of it – almost all online fps borrow from cod4 (which itself borrows from bf2 but that’s a tale for another comment). Even every cod game since has tried to copy it’s magic formula and then make it better, but it really hasn’t worked. World at War was just average. Mw2, at first, seemed to be a step forward although it soon became clear that it had outrageous balance issues and just wasn’t as solid a game as cod4. Sure it sold better, but that doesn’t mean it’s a better game. Black ops as well – it’s is a more skillful game than mw2, but it’s no cod4 – it’s somewhere in game limbo – in that it’s a solid game but lacks that x factor games like cod4, socom 2, halo 2, battlefield 2 had…

Now mw3. I’m still not sure what to expect given IW controversory and 3 studios working on it. I hope for the sake of the game they don’t do a mw2 again, appealing to the mass market with cool stuff in the game – like ac130 kill streaks and danger close. Get rid of noob tubes, bring back juggernaut to balance stopping power, bring back balance to the game and make it more about individuals own skill, yet also make it more team based. Get rid of the ridiculous kill streaks that encourage camping and allow literally any player to get a good score and win the game for their team – as simply as fluking a chopper gunner from a care package.

If MW3 is just mw2 with more cool stuff and new graphics then battlefield may finally come out on top. And I’m glad the whole bad company nonsense has been dropped, that wasn’t battlefield…
