His bionic arms boost the effect of his physical attacks.

Kabal
This fictional Mortal Kombat character first appeared in MK3. The strange respirator on his face is due to the damage he received during one of the attacks (he managed to survive that attack) guided by Shao Kahn. He is the quickest character in the Mortal Kombat series and with his pair of hookswords, he can tear enemy apart in ruthless manner. He can also use his mask to launch a projectile, “Plasma Blast”.
Kano
Kano’s face is covered with a red metal plate mask covering almost half of his face. He is an aggressive as well as a cunning character. The leader of the Black Dragon organization, Kano’s moves are weapon dependent. Like he can throw his butterfly knives at enemies or use them in hand to hand combat. One of his fatalities named “Heart Rip” is one of the most violent (and hence controversial) fatalities in the series.
Kitana
Princess Katana made her debut in MK2 as the step daughter of Shao Kahn. She acted as one of the personal assassins of Shao Kahn along with Jade. Although she is good at unarmed hand to hand kombat, many of her moves are based on the steel fan she holds in her hand. She can use this fan as both a melee weapon as well as a projectile weapon.
