Homefront Sells 375,000 Copies on Day 1

Even with the mixed reviews, the game got from all around the media, THQ’s newest first-person shooter Homefront was good enough to sell 375,000 copies on day one.

Investors were concerned fearing the commercial failure of the product resulting in a 21 percent drop in the publisher’s stock price yesterday, slipping an additional 1.28 percent today to $4.63 a share reports GameSpot.

After all the mayem THQ made a rare announcement of first-day sales for Homefront. According to the publisher, Homefront sold approximately 375,000 units in North America within 24 hours of release. European and Asia Pacific sales figures were not included in the tally, as the game has not yet seen full release worldwide.

Along with the sales figure, THQ also unveiled their plans to increase server capacity to accommodate the demand for Homefront’s multiplayer. All looks fine on surface for THQ, the next few weeks will shape up this franchise. If everything is going as publisher has stated in its press statement, Homefront may well reach its set targets.
