It will be called Shift 2: Unleashed, the idea is to create the most realistic racing simulator. Though it would still fall in Need For Speed series but will have its separate identity.
Shift 2: Unleashed Features
Shift 2:Unleashed pushes the boundaries with the most authentic and intense racing experience in the simulation genre. It gives players a true realistic racing experience, with real-world drivers, cars and tracks. Shift 2 will allow players to customize their vehicles such as the suspension, body and most importantly the engine.
The game will feature 145 cars from 36 manufacturers and 35 different tracks at which the players can test their “Mad” driving skills. It also features an all-new render game engine with a massive visual overhaul that puts the player in the heart of the race with a new helmet camera view, simulating the physical experience of driving at insane speeds.
It also incorporates the next generation of Need for Speed, “Autolog” – A network that connects friends for head-to-head races and lets players compare stats for the ultimate social racing competition.
Developer Slightly Mad Studios has also revealed that the Autolog system that was first used in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is now ‘Need for Speed DNA’. The system will appear in Shift 2 in a more or less the same, but will also have extra features. Regarding the Realism in Shift 2, Executive producer Marcus Nilsson said:
“Shift 2 is redefining immersive racing by blending the rush of tearing up the track at unbelievable speeds with the emotional experience of competitive battle”
On another Instance he said
“We are also working closely with real-world performance drivers to ensure that Shift 2 Unleashed captures their experience and becomes the benchmark in authentic racing action”
