Singularity PC Texture Steaming Fix Patch

By  |  July 1, 2010  |  Comment!

Singularity by Raven Software has texture streaming issues, textures seem to load very slowly. The workaround to resolve this issue requires you to edit the code yourself in the hex editor.

If you are lazy or brave enough to try something compiled by independent programmer like Logan of Playwrite, you should really give a try to automatic texture streaming fix for Singularity.

Singularity Texture Steaming patch automatically backs up your original files before making any changes, so you would be all fine in case anything goes wrong. What it does is, opens “Coalesced_INT.bin” and increases the texture streaming pool size to 400, then it calculates the SHA1 hash for the new file and write it to “Singularity.exe”.

Alternatively you can follow Singularity Texture Streaming Fix manual instructions by PyroMax at Dear Wandy, which would require little knowledge of editing code.

I haven’t tried this, so do share your feedback on how well this works. It is understandable that this patch is a work in progress, so check back Playwrite for updates.
