Battlefield:Bad Company 2 Mouse/Keyboard Controls Configs and Fixes
Battlefield Bad Company 2 is out and rocking, some say its freaking awesome and some are pretty disappointed with game being buggy as hell. Even with all the problems intact the game is frigging awesome really, talk about the gameplay and the story.
These bugs and glitches come with new games these days mostly due to people trying out games before they even get released, you got the idea all right. Anyway the most annoying of issues being faced right now is the in game control which either don’t response or people are unable to change them, even when they change them, the alternate doesn’t work.
How you need to fix everything is what I am interested to let you know subject to how much I know as of now. This post may see frequent updates as we progress with the game and the problems faced in this regard by gamers, so keep in touch.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Mouse/Keyboard Fix
Mouse and keyboard issues are being faced by those who have the pirated copies or downloaded the game before hand to do a test drive.
-In your crack folder it is pretty obvious you have missed to copy the two text files named “jabberwocky.txt” and “pitoni.txt” to the game directory.
-Just move these two text files into the game folder, to solve the issue.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Reversed Yaw and Throttle Fix
In order to fix the reversed yaw and throttle, go into the “air.dbx” file located under “bfbc2/input/air.dbx”, in this file you need to alter two lines:
1. To do that first open “air.dbx” in wordpad.
2. Search for “IDA_Axis1X” and make sure it is under the field for “ConceptMoveFB”.
3. Now change the following line “<field name=”ScaleValue”>1</field>” to “<field name=”ScaleValue”>-1</field>”.
4. Search for “IDA_Axis1Y” and make sure it is under the field for “ConceptYaw”.
5. Now change the following line “<field name=”ScaleValue”>1</field>” to
“<field name=”ScaleValue”>-1</field>”.

If you want to change/edit few buttons in the game settings, you will to edit the air controls where you don’t want them. For every joystick control, map it to the trigger. Everytime you reproduce the action, it deletes the former preset. In the end you only have controls preset to trigger which takes care of all the weird joystick movement issues while on foot and in the armor. Thanks @ Papasan9 for the tip.

I have tried everything, still not working for me
I can only walk, crouch and look around.. can’t even knife the guy in the first mission.

hey……same prob. here……….this problem is coz of pioreted copy…so we cant play this game properly…….plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…….some one help me……coz i set W key as forword in game & left mouse click as fire bt i cant do tht in game………..HELP PLZ……..

got it off the pirate bay, i configured my xbox controller to tht game using pinnacle game profiler, but it overlayed my set controlls with the joystick controlls making 1 button do many things. And i cant knife the guy in the first stage either. I think im just gunna delete this game and stick 2 CoD
At the start that’s all you should be able to do it lets you do other things as you progress, the knife thing is set default to your middle mouse button, not the left mouse button.
Same issue here, cant fire or jump.. Anyone else faced this issue??

reinstall the game, and copy the files from the file crack (the game started and the 2 text files) to the games’ location. It’s better if you install it in the default directory.
umm I added the two txt files and my mouse was able to move but I cant left click or right click my mouse. What can I do?
doesn’t work.. i can’t move the mouse left or down. It always goes right whether i move my mouse to left or right. and its same with up and down controls.
You just need to put the jabberwocky.txt” and “pitoni.txt in the main folder, make sure that when you moved them it didn’t make a new folder or something. Is what happened with me and I was stuck for a sec =)

To use the knife you need to use the MELEE key you bunch of noobs
I added the two txt files and my mouse was able to move but I can only see upward AND downward… HOw to fix for looking Left And Right………..
You have got to be kidding! I bought this at Target (legit copy) I cannot move at all in game. Only look around and crouch. WT_!!! I re-asign the controls to what they were, but numbers appear for keys i’m not even hitting like “W” for forward, I hit that again and a “8″ appears.. Really I’ve got 2 complete copies of Battle Field 2 (all 4 games) and they don’t work right either. That game has so many patches it’s a joke! I’m not even going to mess with this game. I’ll send it back to EA with a big fat turd in the box. I will never buy another EA game………….
i’m having a very weird problem on this game, I CAN’T MOVE BACK AND LEFT!! what in the world is wrong with my computers !?
i have tried it on acer aspire 5750G, acer aspire Z5710 and gygabyte glite. i still got 1 more computer did not try yet lenovo X
But still my main problem is I CAN’T MOVE BACK AND LEFT!! when I press move up or down my mouse it goes up when I press left or right on my keyboard it only goes right >:( .I can’t even complete the 1st level!!!!

Un-Plug any USB connected to your computer. USB Controller can cause these type of issue if they remain plugged-in when you are playing with mouse and keyboard.
Buy the game… auto-update will fix it for you.
