Sequel to Crysis Announced and It Will be On CryEngine

Crytek, the driving force behind the games like Crysis and FarCry just announced the sequel to Famous Sci-Fi Shooter Crysis. Crysis 2 is second game of Crysis trilogy and will follow the events of the original game Crysis. The game will be made on Crytek latest CryEngine 3 whose stunning power and control was shown at GDC this year. This is not only the second game to the Crysis franchise but also the first game which will also be released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

“The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio,” says Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. “This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it’s the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3.”
The game will be released by EA, no release date has been announced yet.
